Mobile Safety Certificates
Formerly known as a Roadworthy Certificate, obtaining a Safety Certificate can be quite a hassle – especially if you fail the inspection!
More often than not, you’ll have to resolve the issues before returning to be inspected again. At Magic Spanners, we can help streamline the entire process by coming to you and carrying out a mobile Safety Certificate inspection from the Gold Coast to Brisbane.
All registered vehicles in Queensland are required by law to have a valid Safety Certificate before they can be put up for sale or be re-registered. If you fail to display a current Safety Certificate in your vehicle, you can face significant financial penalties. The certificate confirms that your vehicle is in good working condition and has passed the minimum required standard safety inspection.
The following vehicles are required to obtain a safety certificate:
- Trailers and caravans with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) of 750kg – 3,500kg
- Any other vehicles with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of up to 4,500kg
Your Safety Certificate inspection will cover a number of basic vehicle safety areas, including:
- Body rust or damage
The inspection takes around 1 hour and at the end of the inspection, you will be given a detailed written report. If your vehicle fails the inspection, we allow fourteen days for you to fix any issues and call us back out for a second inspection.
If your vehicle needs a Safety Certificate on the Gold Coast, don’t leave it until it’s too late! Get in touch with us and take the stress out of buying or selling your car and book your mobile Safety Certificate inspection today!
