Mobile Safety Certificates
Taking your vehicle to a garage to get a Safety Certificate (formally known as a Roadworthy Certificate) can be quite a hassle, especially if you fail the inspection and have to get the issues corrected before returning to the garage again. At Magic Spanners, we can help streamline the entire process by coming to you and carrying out a mobile Safety Certificate inspection at your home or place of work.
All registered vehicles in Queensland are required by law to have a valid Safety Certificate before they can be put up for sale, or be re-registered. If you fail to display a current Safety Certificate in your vehicle you can face significant financial penalties. The certificate confirms that your vehicle is in good, working condition and has passed the minimum required standard safety inspection.
The following vehicles are required to obtain a safety certificate:
- Trailers and caravans with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) of 750kg – 3,500kg
- Any other vehicles with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of up to 4,500kg
Your Safety Certificate inspection will cover a number of basic vehicle safety areas, including:
- Body rust or damage
The inspection takes around 1 hour, and at the end of the inspection you will be given a detailed written report. If, for some reason, your vehicle fails the inspection, you will have fourteen days to fix any issues and call us back out for a second inspection.
If your vehicle needs a Safety Certificate, don’t leave it until it’s too late! Get in touch with us and take the stress out of buying or selling your car and book your mobile Safety Certificate inspection today!
